Beauty redefined
Here's what we do
Welcome to Age Defiant Laser Rejuvenation Clinic, Calgary’s leading Fractional Non-Ablative laser wrinkle and scar removal experts. We use the most powerful laser and Pulsed Light Esthetic System in the world called StarLux ® 500 Laser and Pulsed light platform. Note: Photo galleries are located in the detailed info pages.
With this extraordinary technology we can offer three main treatments.
- Fractional Skin Resurfacing: The technology allows us to safely and effectively remove wrinkles, scars and stretch marks. The StarLux Fractional Laser® hand piece delivers light in an array of narrow, focused “microbeams” to create columns of coagulation with the skin. These columns initiate a natural healing process that forms new healthy tissue! Look refreshed and feel fantastic with healthy new skin. Say goodbye to old wrinkles, scars and stretch marks.
- Photofacial: This is truly the new wave of facials! This technology can eliminate sun damage, moles, active acne, large pores, blackheads, warts, spider veins, and rosacea. As little as 1 to 3 treatments are needed for an effective treatment. End result – your healthy new skin – redefined!
- Permanent Hair Removal: Using the StarLux 500 ®, you will see the difference in hair removal. There are no longer skin type restrictions. Typically, 3 to 8 sessions are needed to remove your unwanted hair. The StarLux 500 ® uses liquid cool tips, which offers a pain free experience during your treatment. At Age Defiant Laser Rejuvenation Clinic, we guarantee the results.
Fractional Non-Ablative Skin Resurfacing
Wrinkles/Scars/Stretch Marks
What areas can I have treated?
StarLux® Fractional non-ablative treatments can be performed on most areas of the body, including the face, chest, arms, and hands.
What makes StarLux Fractional Non-Ablative® treatments unique from other skin resurfacing procedures?
Certain skin resurfacing devices, such as carbon dioxide lasers, use the ablative method, which removes the epidermis and some of the dermis. While good results are eventually seen, the drawbacks include red and raw skin, and a risk of infection for several weeks after treatment. The benefit to using this device is that it sends light pulses into the epidermis and dermis, while leaving the stratum corneum in place unlike the carbon dioxide lasers. This allows for quick recovery.

The photorejuvenation process uses pulses of concentrated light to treat:
- Sun Damage: Wide areas of pigmentation on face, neck, chest, and other areas.
- Sunspots: Pigmented lesions, also known as age spots.
- Rosacea: General inflammation of the cheeks and face.

Pulsed Light Hair Removal - Permanent Hair Reduction Through Pulsed Light
What are my options for unwanted hair removal?
Everyone, both females and males have unwanted hair. You’ve most likely shaved, waxed or maybe even had electrolysis done. But let's face it, shaving is painful! Waxing is relatively effective, but also extremely painful. Most people are prone to ingrown hairs after waxing, and it's only a short term solution. Electrolysis is effective, however it's not a very practical option because it only treats one hair follice at a time, making it quite time consuming. The best option? The pulsed light alternative.
What is the pulsed light alternative?
Palomar Pulsed Light System offers a lasting solution for unwanted hair. Listed below are the advantages of the Pulsed Light System. It's permanent; Concentrated pulses of light loosen the hair and disable the cells responsible for new hair growth. It's fast; Small areas, such as underarms or upper lip can be treated in 10 minutes or less, and large areas such as the back or legs, can be treated in less than 30 minutes. It's comfortable; Various cooling methods keep the light pulses mild and skin-safe, allowing for more comfortable treatments than waxing and electrolysis. It's convenient; You do not have to let your hair grow between treatments like waxing. You can be hair free all the time!

Pulsed Light Acne Treatments
What can I do about acne?
Acne is the most common skin problem. This stubborn and sometimes embarrassing condition is typically treated with oral and topical medications, which can produce good results but often with undesirable side effects.
Palomar Pulsed Light Systems offer an effective alternative acne treatment which delivers concentrated light pulses. The light pulses do two things;
- Target acne-causing bacteria.
- Inhibit future acne breakouts.
The result is a long remission time between treatments, without any drug-related side effects.
How does Palomar pulsed light work?
Palomar Systems use specialized hand pieces which filter light from different parts of the spectrum. Different treatments such as hair reduction, sun spot removal or leg vein clearance require light of different wavelength bands. The LuxV ™ hand piece filters light in the ideal band of the spectrum to affect acne. The LuxV ™ concentrates the light into individual pulses which target acne-causing bacteria.
